Trawellogy is free to read. It is funded by advertising and by affiliate commission. This page explains exactly how that works, in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and book something, the partner pays us a commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is identical.
Who pays us
Update Marketing Media LTD., the publisher of Trawellogy, participates in the following affiliate programmes:
- Travelpayouts network, which includes DiscoverCars, Welcome Pickups, KiwiTaxi, BikesBooking, DrimSim and Aviasales
- Booking.com Partner Programme
- Tiqets affiliate programme
- Airalo affiliate programme
This list is kept current. If we add a partner, it gets added here.
How it affects what we write
- Commission does not buy a recommendation. No partner has ever been given, or can buy, a position in a ranking or a favourable mention.
- We say when the better option pays us nothing. Local bus, public transfer, booking direct with the supplier, a competitor we have no relationship with — if that is the right answer, that is what the guide says.
- Criticism is not filtered. Where a partner service has a known weakness — a slow refund, an aggressive upsell at the counter, a deposit hold higher than advertised — we say so.
- No paid posts. We do not publish sponsored articles, paid guest posts or paid links. If that ever changes, such content will be labelled Sponsored at the top.
Where you will see disclosure
Every article containing affiliate links carries a short disclosure notice above the article body, before the first link. This page is linked from the footer of every page on the site. All affiliate links carry the rel=”sponsored nofollow” attribute required by Google.
Prices
Any price shown on Trawellogy is what we saw on the booking platform on the date stated in the article, for the dates and product stated. Travel prices change constantly. Always confirm the current price and terms with the supplier before you book — the supplier terms, not ours, govern your booking.
Advertising
The site also carries third-party display advertising. Advertisers have no influence over editorial content and no advance sight of it. How advertising cookies work is described in our Privacy Policy.
